Meet the New CYBEX S-Line Car Seat Range

From a lie-flat infant carrier to a high-back booster for the school years, the new CYBEX Platinum S-Line brings a fresh design and a more flexible modular system to every stage of family travel. Here is what each new seat offers, who it is designed for and what has changed from the outgoing T-Line.

Meet the New CYBEX S-Line Car Seat Range

Choosing a car seat is rarely about one specification. It is about how well the seat fits your child, your vehicle and the way your family travels.

The new CYBEX S-Line has been designed around that complete journey, with four car seats spanning birth to approximately 12 years and a new Base S that creates more choice when your child reaches the toddler stage.

For families familiar with the CYBEX T-Line, many of its best-loved ideas remain, including ergonomic recline positions, rotating entry, side-impact protection and breathable fabrics. The S-Line builds on these features with updated UN R129/04 approval, new Comfort and Style fabric choices, and a modular base that works with three different seats rather than only an infant carrier and rotating toddler seat.

The Biggest S-Line Change: The New Base S

The Base S is the thread that joins the first three stages of the S-Line together.

Families can begin with the Cloud S infant carrier and then continue using the same base with either the rear-facing Sirona S or the forward-facing Anoris S Airbag when their child is ready to move on. CYBEX states that the system can support family travel from birth to approximately seven years, depending on which seat is chosen at the toddler stage.

This represents a meaningful change from the T-Line system. Base T supports the Cloud T and Sirona T, while the Anoris T2 uses its own integrated base. Base S brings the Anoris S Airbag into the shared-base family, giving parents a genuine choice between a conventional rotating toddler seat and a forward-facing airbag seat without having to purchase an entirely separate base.

Central LED indicators help confirm the status of the ISOFIX connectors and load leg. When the Anoris S Airbag is fitted, the display can also communicate the status of the impact shield and battery.

CYBEX Cloud S

A Lighter Infant Carrier With a More Inclusive Newborn Fit

The Cloud S is the starting point of the CYBEX S-Line. It is approved for babies from 40–87 cm and up to 13 kg, covering birth to approximately 24 months.

Outside the car, the Cloud S can recline into a fully lie-flat position. When installed on the Base S, it offers upright and semi-reclined travelling positions. One-handed 180-degree rotation turns the infant carrier towards the open vehicle door, making it easier to place your baby into the seat and secure the harness.

The Cloud S can also be installed using a three-point vehicle seat belt, providing additional flexibility when travelling in a second car or a vehicle without the Base S.

Compared with the Cloud T, the upper height and weight limits remain the same, but the Cloud S begins at 40 cm rather than 45 cm. It is also lighter. CYBEX lists the Cloud S Comfort at approximately 3.99 kg and the Style model at approximately 4.1 kg, compared with approximately 4.5 kg for the Cloud T.

The wider Base S pathway is another significant upgrade because the same base can later support either the Sirona S or Anoris S Airbag.

Both Comfort and Style versions feature a ventilated seat shell. Style models add 3D mesh fabric, which CYBEX states can provide up to six times more airflow than conventional fabrics, alongside leather-look detailing. An integrated XXL UPF50+ sun canopy is included, although the mesh window itself does not provide UPF50+ protection.

CYBEX Sirona S

Longer Rear-Facing Use With Increased Weight Capacity

The Sirona S is the rotating toddler car seat for families who want the option to continue rear-facing after the infant-carrier stage.

It is approved for children from 61–105 cm and up to 20 kg, with forward-facing use permitted from 76 cm and a minimum age of 15 months. A separately available newborn inlay can extend its use from birth.

One-handed 360-degree rotation allows the seat to turn towards the vehicle door, helping parents place their child into the seat without having to lean awkwardly into the car. Magnetic belt holders and an Easy-In crotch pad are designed to keep the harness out of the way while the child is being seated.

Compared with the Sirona T, the headline improvement is greater longevity. The Sirona S raises the maximum permitted weight from 18 kg to 20 kg, and CYBEX describes it as suitable until approximately 4.5 years rather than four years.

It also joins the wider Base S ecosystem and moves from UN R129/03 to the newer UN R129/04 approval.

There is an important distinction for parents considering use from birth. The Sirona T is supplied for use from 45 cm, whereas the Sirona S is approved from 61 cm in its standard configuration and requires the optional newborn inlay for earlier use.

The Sirona S includes Linear Side-impact Protection and an energy-absorbing shell. CYBEX states that rear-facing use provides up to 50% better protection than the same seat used forward-facing in its internal frontal-impact testing.

Style versions add the new S-Line design treatment, highly breathable 3D mesh and an integrated XXL sun canopy.

CYBEX Anoris S Airbag

Forward-Facing Airbag Technology Joins the Modular Family

The Anoris S Airbag provides an alternative route through the toddler stage.

It is a forward-facing car seat approved for children from 76–125 cm, from a minimum age of 15 months to approximately seven years, with a maximum child weight of 21 kg.

A full-body airbag is built into the depth-adjustable impact shield. The seat also includes a 12-position headrest, nine impact-shield positions and three recline settings, allowing it to adapt as the child grows.

The key practical upgrade from the Anoris T2 is its integration with the Base S. The Anoris S Airbag attaches to the same base used by the Cloud S, while new one-handed 180-degree rotation brings the seat towards the vehicle door for easier boarding.

The published age, height and weight limits remain broadly aligned with the Anoris T2. The principal improvements are therefore everyday convenience and the value of being part of the wider modular S-Line system, rather than a longer stated usage range.

CYBEX states that its airbag technology provides protection comparable with a rear-facing car seat and up to 50% higher safety than a conventional forward-facing harness seat in its internal frontal-impact testing.

As this is a manufacturer comparison conducted under specific test conditions, Chelsea Baby recommends considering the complete picture—including your child’s fit, the vehicle, installation requirements and day-to-day suitability—rather than choosing a car seat based on one percentage alone.

CYBEX Solution S

A Refined High-Back Booster for the School Years

The Solution S completes the CYBEX S-Line and is designed for children from 100–150 cm, approximately three to 12 years, with a maximum child weight of 50 kg.

Its reclining headrest is designed to help keep a sleeping child’s head within the protected area of the seat. Twelve headrest positions allow the seat to grow with the child, while its automatic width adjustment increases the available shoulder space as the headrest is raised.

The backrest can also be reclined by adjusting the seat’s ISOFIX position, helping it align more closely with the vehicle seat.

The core concept will be familiar to parents considering the Solution T i-Fix. Both models feature a reclining headrest, automatic width adjustment and all-round ventilation.

The Solution S updates the approval from UN R129/03 to UN R129/04. CYBEX also increases its stated side-impact improvement from more than 20% for the Solution T to up to 25% for the Solution S. Each figure compares the relevant seat with the same model without its Linear Side-impact Protection system under CYBEX test conditions.

Style models add an integrated sun canopy, the new S-Line design treatment and breathable 3D mesh fabric.

One difference should be checked carefully before purchasing. CYBEX lists the Solution T as suitable for installation with a three-point vehicle belt, with ISOFIX used where compatible. The current Solution S information specifies ISOFIX installation. Always consult the CYBEX compatibility tool to confirm suitability for your vehicle.

CYBEX S-Line Replaces T-Line: What Has Improved?

The new CYBEX Platinum S-Line replaces T-Line with updated UN R129/04 approval, refreshed Comfort and Style fabrics, improved ventilation and a more flexible modular system.

The biggest change is Base S. While Base T works with Cloud T and Sirona T, Base S supports Cloud S, Sirona S and Anoris S Airbag. Families can begin with the Cloud S before choosing either the rear-facing Sirona S or forward-facing Anoris S Airbag for the next stage, all using the same base.

Across the individual seats, Cloud S is lighter and begins from 40 cm rather than 45 cm. Sirona S increases the maximum weight from 18 kg to 20 kg, extending its approximate use to 4.5 years. Anoris S Airbag joins the modular base system and adds 180-degree door-facing rotation, while Solution S introduces updated approval, revised side-impact protection and new Style fabrics with 3D mesh and an integrated sun canopy.

Existing T-Line seats remain suitable when used within their approved limits, but families buying a new system should choose S-Line for the latest CYBEX design, technology and compatibility pathway. Base T and Base S are separate systems, so compatibility should always be checked before purchasing.
