The CYBEX Anoris S Airbag introduces the next generation of forward-facing airbag car-seat technology to the new Platinum S-Line Modular System.

Designed for children from at least 15 months and 76 cm through to 125 cm or 21 kg, Anoris S Airbag combines a depth-adjustable impact shield with an integrated full-body airbag. It provides forward-facing travel, generous legroom and direct interaction between parent and child while adapting until approximately seven years old.

Unlike the outgoing Anoris T2, the new Anoris S does not have its own permanently integrated base. It attaches to the separately available CYBEX Base S—the same modular base used with the Cloud S infant carrier and Sirona S rotating toddler seat.

This gives families who begin with Cloud S a choice at the next stage: continue rear-facing with Sirona S or move to forward-facing travel with the Anoris S Airbag.

Full-Body Airbag Protection

The defining feature of the CYBEX Anoris S is its integrated full-body airbag.

The airbag is housed within the seat’s adjustable impact shield. In a frontal collision, it is designed to inflate rapidly across the child’s upper body, creating a larger protective surface around the head, neck and chest.

Rather than restraining the child using a conventional five-point harness, Anoris S uses the impact shield to distribute forces across a wider area. The shield can be adjusted in depth to sit closely around the child while still allowing space for natural movement.

CYBEX states that the Anoris S provides up to 50% higher safety than a conventional forward-facing harness seat in its internal frontal-impact testing. CYBEX also states that its airbag system can provide protection comparable with a rear-facing car seat, referring to ADAC commentary on car seats using this type of full-body airbag technology.

These comparisons relate to specific test conditions. Correct installation, vehicle compatibility and an appropriate fit for the individual child remain essential.

Forward-Facing Travel From 15 Months

The Anoris S Airbag is designed exclusively for forward-facing travel.

It can be used once the child is at least 15 months old, measures a minimum of 76 cm and meets all fitting requirements in the product instructions. Both the minimum age and height requirements must be satisfied before the seat is used.

The forward-facing position provides generous legroom and allows the child to see more of the journey ahead. Parents can also maintain visual contact through the rear-view mirror, which may help make everyday journeys feel more connected.

The impact shield leaves the child’s shoulders and arms comparatively unrestricted, allowing greater freedom of movement than some conventional harness systems. It must nevertheless be adjusted closely against the child’s body every time the seat is used.

180° Rotation for Easier Side Entry

One of the biggest improvements over the Anoris T2 is the addition of one-handed 180-degree rotation.

When installed on Base S, the Anoris S can rotate towards the open vehicle door. This provides easier access when placing the child in the seat, positioning the impact shield and checking its fit.

Once the child has been secured, the seat must be rotated into its locked forward-facing travel position. The rotation is an access feature and does not allow rear-facing travel.

Bringing the seat towards the door can reduce awkward lifting and leaning, making the Anoris S more practical for regular nursery runs, school journeys and everyday family travel.

Part of the CYBEX Base S Modular System

Anoris S Airbag forms part of the CYBEX Platinum S-Line Modular System.

Families can begin with the Cloud S infant carrier on Base S. When Cloud S is outgrown, the Cloud S adapter is removed and the same base can be used with either Anoris S Airbag or Sirona S.

This creates two different routes through the toddler stage:

• Sirona S for extended rear-facing travel with a five-point harness

• Anoris S Airbag for forward-facing travel with an impact shield and full-body airbag

Base S installs using ISOFIX connectors and a supporting load leg. Its onboard safety assistant uses LED indicators to help confirm the status of the ISOFIX installation and load leg. When Anoris S is fitted, the system can also display the status of the impact shield and airbag battery.

The Anoris S is only compatible with Base S. It is not compatible with Base T, and Base S is sold separately unless explicitly included within a product bundle.

Designed to Grow Until Approximately Seven Years

CYBEX GrowTech allows Anoris S Airbag to adapt between 76 and 125 cm.

The seat includes a 12-position headrest, nine impact-shield settings and three recline positions. These adjustments help maintain an appropriate fit and comfortable posture as the child grows.

The impact shield should sit closely against the child without causing discomfort. Thick or padded clothing can prevent it from fitting correctly, so bulky winter coats should be removed before the child is secured.

The maximum child weight is 21 kg. The seat must be discontinued when the child reaches 125 cm or 21 kg, whichever limit is reached first.

Linear Side-Impact Protection

In addition to its frontal-impact airbag system, the Anoris S includes CYBEX Linear Side-impact Protection.

This three-part system works with the energy-absorbing shell and headrest to manage forces during a side collision. CYBEX states that the L.S.P. system can reduce side-impact forces by up to 25% compared with the same seat without L.S.P. under its internal test conditions.

The L.S.P. element automatically extends during the initial setup. Always follow the instructions supplied with the seat, particularly where the vehicle interior or adjacent passenger seat affects the available space.

AGR-Certified Ergonomics and Generous Legroom

The CYBEX Anoris S Airbag has received the AGR seal of approval for its ergonomic design and functionality.

Its spacious forward-facing layout provides generous legroom, while the adjustable impact shield allows the upper body greater freedom of movement. Three recline positions support comfort during both active journeys and naps.

The seat measures approximately 49 cm long, 45 cm wide and 58 cm high. The Comfort model weighs approximately 6.7 kg, while the Style model weighs approximately 6.9 kg. These figures do not include the separately available Base S.

Comfort or Style Fabrics

Anoris S Airbag is available in Comfort and Style finishes.

Comfort models combine soft upholstery with ventilation channels built into the seat. They retain the same height limits, airbag technology, impact shield and core safety features as the Style versions.

Style models add breathable 3D mesh designed to regulate moisture and provide up to six times more airflow than conventional CYBEX fabrics. Two-tone leather-look details create a more distinctive Platinum finish.

Style models also include a detachable XXL UPF50+ sun canopy with a breathable mesh window. The mesh section itself does not provide UPF50+ protection.

CYBEX Anoris S vs Anoris T2

The CYBEX Anoris S replaces the Anoris T2 as the latest Platinum forward-facing airbag car seat.

Both seats cover a similar stage, accommodating children from at least 15 months and 76 cm through to 125 cm or 21 kg. Both also use a depth-adjustable impact shield with integrated full-body airbag technology.

The principal difference is how the seats are installed. Anoris T2 has its own integrated ISOFIX base, while Anoris S attaches to the separate Base S. This allows families who previously used Cloud S to retain the same base for the next stage.

Anoris S also introduces 180-degree rotation towards the vehicle door—an important everyday improvement over the fixed Anoris T2. It moves to updated UN R129/04 approval and introduces the new Comfort and Style fabric choices.

Choose Anoris S if you are buying into the new S-Line Modular System or want door-facing rotation. Anoris T2 remains a self-contained alternative for families who prefer a car seat with its base permanently integrated.

CYBEX Anoris S or Sirona S?

Anoris S Airbag and Sirona S are the two toddler-seat options designed for Base S, but they provide different approaches to travel.

Choose Sirona S if you want to keep your child rear-facing for longer and prefer an integrated five-point harness. Sirona S also offers 360-degree rotation and can be used forward-facing once the child meets the minimum requirements.

Choose Anoris S Airbag if your child is at least 15 months and 76 cm and you prefer forward-facing travel with direct interaction, generous legroom and full-body airbag technology.

Neither seat is universally better for every family. The right choice depends on the child’s size and development, the vehicle, the installation position and the parent’s preference regarding travel direction and restraint system.

We think the new CYBEX Anoris S makes the airbag-seat concept considerably more practical for everyday family life.

The addition of 180-degree rotation addresses one of the main convenience differences between the Anoris T2 and rotating toddler seats. Its inclusion within the Base S family also makes it a more natural next step for parents beginning with the Cloud S infant carrier.

The key decision is whether the Anoris S or rear-facing Sirona S is the better fit for your child and family. We recommend seeing both seats in person, trying the impact shield with your child and confirming vehicle compatibility before purchasing.
