CYBEX Cloud S
CYBEX Cloud S Infant Car Seat
The CYBEX Cloud S introduces the next generation of Platinum infant car-seat comfort, combining a more inclusive newborn fit with lightweight handling, advanced side-impact protection and the flexibility of the new S-Line Modular System.
Approved to the latest UN R129/04 standard, Cloud S is suitable from birth at 40 cm through to 87 cm or a maximum weight of 13 kg—approximately 24 months. An included newborn inlay supports smaller babies, while 14 headrest positions, an automatically adjusting harness and removable growing pads allow the seat to adapt as your baby develops.
Cloud S can be installed on the separately available Base S or secured directly using a compatible three-point vehicle seat belt. On Base S, it can rotate 180 degrees towards the vehicle door and provides both upright and semi-reclined travelling positions. Outside the car, the seat reclines fully flat to create a more ergonomic position when attached to a compatible pushchair.
Ergonomic Lie-Flat Comfort From Birth
The Cloud S is designed to support a more natural position throughout your baby’s first two years.
Outside the vehicle, the backrest and leg rest extend together to create an ergonomic full lie-flat position. This distributes the baby’s weight across a larger surface, helping to reduce pressure on the body and limit forward head movement.
When attached to Base S inside the vehicle, Cloud S provides a semi-reclined position as well as a more upright setting than previous models in the Cloud range. The full lie-flat position is intended for use outside the car, such as when the infant carrier is attached to a compatible pushchair.
When Cloud S is installed using the vehicle seat belt rather than Base S, it must be used in its upright position. Always follow the product instructions for the chosen installation method.
Designed to Grow for Up to Two Years
Suitable from 40–87 cm and up to 13 kg, Cloud S is designed to support babies from their first journey home until approximately 24 months.
CYBEX GrowTech combines 14 adjustable headrest positions with a harness that moves automatically as the headrest is raised. The included newborn inlay provides additional support for smaller babies and should normally be removed once the child reaches 61 cm, following the instructions supplied with the seat.
Removable growing pads provide further adjustment, while the seat shell supports a hip-healthy M-position as the child grows. Age guidance is approximate, so parents should always use the official height and weight limits when deciding when to move to the next car seat.
180° Rotation With the New Base S
Attach the Cloud S to the separately available Base S to unlock convenient one-handed 180-degree rotation.
The seat turns towards the open vehicle door, making it easier to place your baby inside, adjust the harness and remove the carrier. Cloud S can rotate while semi-reclined, helping reduce awkward lifting and leaning during everyday use.
Base S installs using ISOFIX connectors and a load leg, with central LED indicators helping confirm that the installation points are correctly engaged. A Base S adapter is required for Cloud S and is supplied with the Base S.
When your baby outgrows Cloud S, the same base can be used with either the rear-facing Sirona S or forward-facing Anoris S Airbag. This makes Cloud S the starting point of a modular car-seat system that can support family travel from birth to approximately seven years, depending on the next seat chosen.
Enhanced Side-Impact Protection
The Cloud S combines an energy-absorbing shell, protective headrest and Linear Side-impact Protection system.
In a side collision, the L.S.P. system is designed to begin managing impact forces before directing them into the seat’s energy-absorbing structure. CYBEX states that this provides up to 25% more side-impact protection compared with the same seat without its L.S.P. system under the company’s internal test conditions.
Cloud S is approved under UN R129/04 and must always be used rear-facing in the vehicle.
Lightweight for Everyday Travel
Despite its extensive comfort and safety features, Cloud S remains easy to carry between the house, car and pushchair.
The Comfort model weighs approximately 3.99 kg, while the Style version weighs approximately 4.1 kg. Memory buttons make it easier to release the infant carrier from a compatible pushchair, helping create a convenient travel system for shorter everyday transitions.
Cloud S is also certified for aircraft use. Individual airlines apply their own rules, so parents should contact the airline before travelling and confirm whether the seat can be used on the chosen flight.
Travel-System Ready
Using separately available adapters, the CYBEX Cloud S can be connected to a range of compatible CYBEX pushchairs and selected pushchairs from other leading brands.
Once attached to the pushchair, Cloud S can extend into its full lie-flat position to support a more ergonomic posture. This makes it a practical option for moving a baby between the car and pushchair without immediately disturbing them.
An infant car seat is not a replacement for a carrycot or permanent sleep space. Parents should continue to follow current safe-sleep guidance and the instructions supplied with their car seat and pushchair.
Comfort or Style Fabrics
Cloud S is available in two fabric finishes, allowing parents to choose between understated everyday comfort and the more distinctive Platinum Style treatment.
Comfort models combine soft upholstery with ventilation through the seat shell. Style models add breathable 3D mesh fabric designed to regulate moisture and increase airflow by up to six times compared with conventional CYBEX fabrics.
Style versions also feature two-tone leather-look detailing inspired by luxury car interiors, creating a more refined finish without changing the approved height or weight limits of the seat.
XXL UPF50+ Sun Canopy
An integrated XXL sun canopy provides shade and UPF50+ protection from direct sunlight, helping create a calmer environment for naps and everyday journeys.
A mesh window encourages additional airflow and allows parents to check on their baby. The mesh section itself is not UPF50+, so the canopy should always be positioned with that distinction in mind.
CYBEX Cloud S Installation Options
Cloud S offers two approved installation methods.
With Base S, the seat clicks into position and benefits from ISOFIX installation, a supporting load leg, visual indicators, semi-reclined travel and 180-degree rotation towards the vehicle door.
Alternatively, Cloud S can be installed using a compatible three-point vehicle seat belt. This can be useful in taxis, grandparents’ cars or other vehicles where the Base S is not fitted. When secured with the vehicle belt, Cloud S must be used in its upright position and installed correctly on every journey.
Always use the CYBEX compatibility checker before purchasing. Never place a rear-facing infant carrier on a front passenger seat while the frontal airbag remains active.

CYBEX Cloud S vs Cloud T
Cloud S replaces the established Cloud T as the new Platinum S-Line infant carrier.
Both seats accommodate children up to 87 cm and 13 kg, but Cloud S begins from 40 cm rather than 45 cm, providing a more inclusive fit for smaller newborns. It is also lighter, weighing approximately 3.99–4.1 kg compared with approximately 4.5 kg for Cloud T.
Cloud S moves to the updated UN R129/04 approval and introduces CYBEX GrowTech, with 14 headrest positions, removable growing pads and a seat shell designed to support a hip-healthy M-position.
The most significant change is the modular system. Base T works with Cloud T and Sirona T, while the new Base S supports Cloud S, Sirona S and Anoris S Airbag. This gives families a choice between a rear-facing rotating toddler seat and a forward-facing airbag seat when their baby outgrows the infant carrier.
Cloud S is not compatible with Base T. Families moving from the outgoing T-Line will require the new Base S for ISOFIX installation and rotation.
Chelsea Baby’s View
We think the CYBEX Cloud S is a meaningful evolution of the Cloud family rather than simply a fabric update.
Its 40 cm starting height, lighter design and more adaptable internal fit make it particularly appealing for parents choosing a premium infant carrier from birth. The full lie-flat travel-system position remains one of the Cloud range’s most useful features, while the new Base S creates substantially more choice at the toddler stage.
Families can continue rear-facing with Sirona S or move to the Anoris S Airbag without replacing the base. That flexibility makes Cloud S especially attractive for parents planning their complete car-seat journey rather than buying one stage at a time.
Vehicle compatibility and newborn fit remain essential. We recommend checking the seat in the intended vehicle and arranging an in-store demonstration where possible.
